Jagan Reddy begins yatra in Krishna district

JAGGAIAHPET (KRISHNA DIST): The 15-day Odarpu Yatra launched by YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy received overwhelming response in Krishna district on the first day on Monday.Despite, the public meeting at Jaggaiapet on Monday held four hours behind schedule, scores waited patiently for Jagan at the venue for the meeting.  Earlier, Jagan was received at Gannavaram airport by a large number of followers and leaders. He arrived from Hyderabad and went to Gouravaram by road. Thousands of followers from Krishna, Guntur and West Godavari Districts reached Gannavaram airport to greet him with flowers. Long queues were found on either side of the road on Jagan’s way to Gouravaram.At airport, he was received by former MLAs from Krishna district including Samineni Udaya Bhanu, Meka Pratap Appa Rao, Y Raja Ramachandar, Jaleel Khan, J Ramesh, former zilla parishad vice- chairman T Padmavati and other leaders. The spokespersons of the YSR Congress B Karunakara Reddy and Ambati Ramababu accompanied Jagan during the yatra.In his address at the public meeting, the YSR Congress president alleged that the Congress had colluded with the Telugu Desam Party and resorting to mudslinging on his father and the former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.Highlighting the people welfare schemes introduced by his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy during his chief ministerial tenure, Jagan said though YSR died two years ago, he is still alive in the heart of people.  Earlier, the Kadapa MP visited the family of one Maddali Krishna Rao at Gowravaram village near Jaggaiahpet, who died after hearing the death news of YSR and consoled the family members.Speaking on the occasion, former MLA and YSR Congress district convener Samineni Udayabhanu said that the Congress party has been vindicative to Jagan fearing his public image.The Kadapa MP will be visiting many other villages in Krishna district as part of his Odarpu yatra in the next few days.
