Jawahar is DMK candidate for bypoll

CHENNAI: DMK south zone organising secretary MK Alagiri on Friday introduced J Jawahar Surya Kumar(41) of Vellalan Kottai, the DMK candidate, for the Sankarankoil by-election.  Jawahar was the first of the 41 candidates interviewed by the panel chaired by DMK chief Karunanidhi, party treasurer Stalin and Alagiri. Jawahar is the nephew of former Congress Minister M Arunachalam and is currently the deputy secretary of the advocates wing.
