Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Thursday reviewed the power situation in Tamil Nadu and expedited the works on three projects which would augment the generation capacity of the State by 3,300 MW, in order to end the power shortage in the State.
The CM chaired a meeting of Ministers and top officials at the Secretariat to review the progress of the works in the Vallur Thermal Power Project, a joint venture of the NTPC and the TNEB (3X500 MW), Mettur Thermal Power Project (600 MW) and the North Chennai Thermal Power Extension Project (2X600 MW). full report:
