Jayalalithaa to campaign at nine places today

TIRUNELVELI: Security has been beefed up in Sankarankoil constituency in view of AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s visit on Wed­nesday to campaign for her party candidate S Muthuselvi.The final round of campaigning is expected to touch a feverish pitch with visit of Jayalalithaa to Sankarankoil, which is scheduled to go for polls on March 18. Police said, the Chief Minister would leave from Chennai at 11.35 am by flight and reach Madurai airport at 12.25 pm, from where she would board a helicopter at 12.35 pm and land at the helipad at Thiruvengadam  at 1.05 pm. After campaigning in about nine places in the constituency, the Chief Minister would board a helicopter at Thevarkulam at 5.35 pm and leave for Madurai.Sources said the AIADMK chief’s campaign would cover places such as Thiruvengadam Bazaar, Kuruvikulam, Naluvasankottai, Malaiyan­kulam intersection, Sankarankoil, Kurukkalpatti, Panavadalichatram, Vannikonendal and Thevarkulam.
