Jean-Eric Vergne eyes Silverstone after strong Montreal
The Toro Rosso driver is confident after his best F1 finish and said the result left him gunning for more.

Toro Rosso driver Jean-Eric Vergne on Friday said that he is keenly awaiting the upcoming British Grand Prix after his strong finish at the Canadian Grand Prix.Vergne grabbed a career-best sixth place in Montreal to give Toro Rosso their best result since Sebastian Vettel in 2008.

In his Toro Rosso blog, Vergne said that the result has given him a confidence boost to the extent that he cannot wait to get in the car again at Silverstone.

"This is an important result. It shows we are doing a good job, especially at the factory. It gives everybody in the team a shot of confidence and that includes me. So much so that on Sunday evening I was having a long chat with my engineer about the next race, in Silverstone. We have to keep the momentum and I'm looking forward to racing there again," he wrote.

Reflecting on the race in Montreal, Vergne wrote: "I was very pleased with the result in Canada. It's my best F1 finish and it is nice to put more points on the board. Ultimately though, the points are not that important, it's the fact that the performance was good that is important. Sixth place is a good result but we need to forget it now and look forward."
