Jeev finished even-par for the week with rounds of 72, 73, 71 and 68 at 284.

Chiba (Japan): Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh closed with a creditable round of three-under 68 to finish tied 36th in the Bridgestone Open at the Sodegaura Country Club here.

Jeev finished even-par for the week with rounds of 72, 73, 71 and 68 at 284. He birdied the second, fifth, 11th and 16th and was headed for a bogey-free round when he dropped a shot at the par-three 17th.

Toru Taniguchi produced a dramatic win as he eagled the 18th hole to win by one shot over Hiroyuki Fujita, the leading player on Japan Tour this year.

Taniguchi was playing in the group ahead of Fujita, who needed a birdie on the 18th to force a play-off. But Fujita failed and Taniguchi won his 19th title on the Tour.

He was winning the Bridgestone Open a third time having clinched it in 2004 and 2011. Taniguchi started day one behind Fujita and Korean Dong Hwan Lee.

Fujita was second while Ryuchi Oda, Lee and Kunihiro Kamii were tied for third. The next event is Mynavi ABC Championship.
