KOCHI: The victim of the Paravoor sex scandal has complained to the Crime Branch investigating officer that outsiders often enter the Juvenile Home in Kakkanad where she is lodged.   The minor girl told Crime branch DySP Bijo Alexander neither she nor other inmates are safe at the juvenile  home.  The victim of the Varapuzha sex scam is also lodged here.Express had earlier reported that the juvenile home was not safe for the rehabilitated minor girls and that there is constant threat from anti-socials elements. After this report, the warden and the authorities had promised that necessary steps would be taken. But no action has been initiated, yet.  DySp Bijo Alexander said that the girl told him that the people from outside often enter the premises during night.“The girl told us that many people often enter the premises of the Juvenile home and try to meet the inmates. Outsiders often knock at the window and try to peep inside. No written complaints have been given regarding this. We will bring this to the notice of the authorities and ask them to take action” DySP Bijo Alexander said.Meanwhile, Superintendent of the Hostel, Jayashankar told Express that three women police constables and a policeman were posted in the Juvenile home and there were no serious  issues concerning safety now.“The surrounding wall on one side is low and it is convenient for outsiders to jump the walls and meet the inmates. We had reported this to the government and funds have been allotted to raise the height of the wall. PWD officials said that the work for increasing the height of the wall would begin soon”, Jayashankar said.   He added that he has not received any complaints on this regard so far.
