According to Local 18 Andhra Pradesh, in this letter, the Kadiri native has asked the CM many questions about the state’s education system in private schools. Srinath is a small private employee and earns a meagre salary. Even though Srinath’s salary was low, he wanted his children to be enrolled in a private school. He thought that the students in the private schools would have a good future. However, now he wishes to bring the attention of Andhra Pradesh’s CM Chandrababu to reveal the fraud being carried out in the state’s private schools. He pointed out that the parents of each student are losing and are being cheated of a lot of money every year.
According to Srinath, students are not getting quality education in government schools. Due to this reason, he said that every student’s parents want to get their wards enrolled in private schools. Therefore, the owners of private educational institutions are charging high fees. Apart from that, Srinath said that the schools are also charging heavily for the books, uniforms and syllabi. Meanwhile, he said that some people are raising questions regarding these topics on Twitter. According to him, it’s of no use. He said that the people just indulge in accusations and counter-accusations which end up in no conclusion.
As per Srinath, the common people have rights only on paper, not in real life. He concluded that the law’s equality for all is only in theory. However, its implementation and ensuring justice, differ in daily life.
According to a report in The New Indian Express, in Andhra Pradesh, private schools collected exorbitant fees for books. This caused a huge setback to the parents and their expenses. Reportedly, there are over 1,500 private schools present in Guntur district. According to the reports, it was found that these schools demanded the students and parents to use books provided by the respective schools, stating that their curriculum is different.
Besides school and tuition fees, the private school managements reportedly collect Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,900 as fees for books alone for nursery children.
