Mumbai: Bollywood actress Kajol said she had to “tune out” her surroundings while playing a blind girl in the new movie Fanaa due to be released later this week.
Fanaa is her first movie in five years, in which she acts alongside Aamir Khan.
In an interview published in the June issue of Filmfare magazine, Kajol said that once she concentrated it was easy to disregard what was happening around her.
‘'Once you tune out and become oblivious to your surroundings, you're fine,'' she said.
''All you need to do is concentrate on your hearing, your body language will correct itself automatically,'' she explained.
Kajol gave up a soaring career in 2001 after marriage to actor Ajay Devgan and the birth of their daughter Nysa.
Performing in front of the camera again wasn't difficult, she said. ''There was nothing different about facing the camera after nearly five years.
"Everything felt the same. It didn't seem as if I'd taken a long break,'' she said.
