PALAKKAD: The chariots of the Kalpathy Car Festival will begin to roll out through the streets of the agraharam from Monday. The four temples,including the main centre Sree Visalakshi Samedha Viswanatha Swamy Temple at Kalpathy, have been decked up for the celebration. On the first day, the deity from the Viswanathaswamy Temple will be taken out and installed in the three cards,one for the main deity Sree Viswanathaswamy and consort Goddess Parvathy, the second for Lord Vigneswara and the third for Lord Subramaniaswamy. On Tuesday, the deity of New Kalpathy village Mahaganapathy will mount on the ratham for ‘pradakshinam’. On Wednesday, the deities of the Old Kalpathy Temple and Chathapuram Temple will mount on the rathams for ‘grama pradikshanam’.The famous ‘rathasangamom’ will take place in the evening of the third day, where all the chariots will meet before the Sree Viswanathaswamy Temple. The six-day Kalpathy Music Festival, organised by DTPC concluded on Sunday.
