A 12 year-old critically ill boy died after he was allegedly refused treatment by the doctors

A 12-year-old critically ill boy died after he was allegedly refused treatment by the doctors of Hallet hospital in Kanpur even as his father had to carry him on his shoulders and run from pillar to post to get attention.

The father of the kid has alleged that his son died due to negligence of the doctors at JSVM Medical College, a charge which the hospital authorities have refuted.

JVSM Medical College Principal Navneet Kumar said the child was already brought dead to the hospital and an inquiry has been ordered into the matter.

On August 28, Sunil Kumar took his son Anshu, who was suffering from fever, to the emergency ward of Hallet hospital of JSVM Medical College.

He has alleged that his son died in the process of moving from one department to another which he did while carrying his son on his shoulder.

Uttar Pradeh government has been facing criticism due to several cases of negligence and callousness.

Reacting to the incident Congress politician Rita Bahuguna said, "The government of Uttar Pradesh has collapsed not only on the law and order front but also when it comes to health services."

A committee led by three doctors has been asked to submit a report on the matter within three days, said the Medical College Principal.

Kanpur DM Kaushal Raj Sharma has also ordered an inquiry into the matter and has formed a two-member committee comprising Additional City Magistrate and Additional Chief Medical Officer.
