BANGALORE: Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Vikramjit Sen on Tuesday took strong exception to former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s decision to defy the Supreme Court order in connection with a petition filed by a housing society which claimed that he had deliberately denotified land acquired for it.The Bangalore District and Bangalore Rural District Cooperative Banks’ Employees House Building Cooperative Society had been allotted land in Nagarbhavi by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA). The society alleged that Yeddyurappa had without notice denotified five acres of the land in Nagarbhavi.Hearing a petition filed by the society, a Division Bench headed by Justice Sen remarked, “What does he (Yeddyurappa) thinks of himself? As he was the then chief minister, he felt he could do anything. He has even failed to show respect to the Supreme Court order. It’s been more than two decades since the land was acquired by the Bangalore Development Authority.” The division bench, later, reserved its orders on the petition involving the former chief minister.
