The much hyped reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) will kick-start on October 11 which also happens to be the birthday of the host of the show – Amitabh Bachchan. This time the show will be aired on Sony channel and not Star Plus as was the case for last 3 years.
And the biggest attraction of the show is the winning amount of a whopping Rs 5 crores. Also, there will be a set time limit within which the contestants have to answer the questions. Siddharth Basu, the brain behind KBC says, “This time we have made certain changes in the show but the basic format remains the same. We have tried to make the show snappier.” For those looking forward to watching celebrities on the show, two weeks will be dedicated solely to celeb participation. And there is a slight change of format for celebs too. Bachchan explains, “The celebrities are allowed to bring along 4 more people, friends or family, with them. If the celeb cannot answer a particular question, he can pass the question on to the next member of his team. This way, the other four members of his team get a chance to play too."
At the press conference of the show, Amitabh Bachchan in a candid mood admitted, “Five years ago, I got onto TV due to financial problems. My family and I were not sure whether we should get into television. The production house then took me for the shoot of the original show, Who wants to be a millionaire? I told the production house that only if they can create the same atmosphere, I would be ready to host the adapted version. They did a commendable job and I got onto the show.” He continues, “And this show got me back to the limelight. I am happy that I have got an opportunity to host the show again.” The superstar also said that if he will ever be asked to be on the hot seat, he would run away. He thinks that it is not easy to be on the hot seat and also his general knowledge is limited.
