Kuttikkanam tourism circuit launched

KUTTIKKANAM: There is immense potential for the growth of tourism in Idukki and the government was aware of it, Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar said here on Friday.Inaugurating the tourism circuit taken up at the initiative of district panchayat at Kuttikkanam, he said the government would take up more work to develop tourism in the district.The minister praised the students of Marian College, Kuttikkanam, for helping the district panchayat in developing the project. He applauded the district panchayat for taking the lead in completing the project at the shortest time.As per the project, the proposed circuit would connect the 53 panchayats in the district and showcase important destinations.A public meeting and a photo exhibition organised in connection with the project was inaugurated by Water Resources Minister P J Joseph.District panchayat president Alex Kozhimala presided over the function.Marian College principal Rubil Raj spoke.E S Bijimol MLA, district panchayat vice-president Indu Sudhakaran, district panchayat member M M Varghese, district panchayat secretary T Sanal Kumar, Consumerfed chairman Joy Thomas, College manager Ruben J Thannikkal, Azhutha block panchayat president Swarnalatha Appukut tan and grama panchayat president Alex Choorapady were present.
