Ten farmers from various talukas of Goa and nine officials from Goa’s Agriculture Department underwent a three-day training programme that ended on Tuesday at the Peruthalaivar Kamaraj Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) here.
They were trained on System of Rice Intensification (SRI), precision farming, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), farm mechanisation and management of hi-tech nursery. Programme co-ordinator A Ramamourti said that the farmers were imparted basic training that targeted maximum yield, proper water management and effective use of machines for rice farming.
The programme was inaugurated by KVK chief G Suresh.
