Loans for sheep farmers in 3 districts
`100 cr each allocated to Mahbubnagar, Chittoor and Prakasam districts

The state government will be providing loans for sheep and goat breeders in Mahbubnagar, Chittoor and  Prakasam districts by allocating Rs 100 crore to each district under a pilot project, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has said. He was speaking after laying the foundation for a lift irrigation project to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 9 crore at Jayanthi village in Veerulapadu mandal on the second day of Indiramma Bata in Krishna district on Wednesday.

Interacting with shepherds, he said the state government had recently  decided to pay Rs 1,000 compensation if a sheep or goat dies in an accident or during natural calamities.

Stating that his  government was committed to the welfare of backward classes (BC), Kiran Kumar Reddy said the government had sanctioned Rs 3,100 crore for the welfare of the BCs this year. The chief minister sanctioned  Rs 1.20 crore for the construction of CC roads in Veerullapadu mandal and `50 lakh for CC roads at in Jayanthi village. A community hall for shepherds at an estimated cost of `50 lakh was also sanctioned along with Rs 50 lakh for the construction of animal husbandry director’s office building. K Partha Saradhi, minister for secondary education, MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, MLA Thangirala Prabhakar Rao and others were present during the programme.
