Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Vamsi Krishna Gaddam, Youngest Scion Of Gaddam Family, Wins In Peddapalli
Vamsi Krishna Gaddam of the Indian National Congress won by a huge margin of 4,55,552 votes.

The entire country on Tuesday waited with bated breath as the counting of votes commenced at 8 am for the General Lok Sabha elections of this year. By the end of the day, it was clear that Indian voters gave the ruling BJP party a weakened mandate, forcing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to negotiate with smaller partners to form the government. While developments continue to occur, it is interesting to note that the third-generation scion of a political dynasty in Telangana has been able to uphold the family’s legacy.

In the Peddapalli Lok Sabha constituency of Telangana, Vamsi Krishna Gaddam of the Indian National Congress won by a huge 4,55,552 votes and created a record by winning as the third-generation heir from the same family. His father Gaddam Vivek represented the Peddapalli constituency between 2009 and 2014. Gaddam Vivek had defected to the BJP in 2019 but returned to the grand old party in November last year. Gaddam Vivek joined the Congress along with his son Vamsi.

The founder of the Gaddam dynasty and Vivek’s father Gaddam Venkatswamy represented the Peddapalli constituency in Telangana and was a member of the Indian National Congress. He was popularly known as Kaka or Gudisela Venkataswamy. He was elected to the Lok Sabha seven times, four times from Peddapalli and three times from Siddipet. Along with Gaddam Vivek, his other son Gaddam Vinod has also been a politician.

Vamsi Krishna Gaddam is still a new and unfamiliar face for the people of the Peddapalli constituency but his grandfather’s and father’s legacy has helped him secure a win by a large margin.
