KOCHI: The Breakthrough Science Society has urged science lovers to observe total lunar eclipse which will be visible on Wednesday.A Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Earth, in the course of its orbit around the sun, comes between the moon and the sun. This can occur only when the sun, Earth and the moon are aligned exactly. The eclipse will start when the moon enters the penumbra at 10.54 p.m. It will reach its peak at 1.42 a.m. The eclipse will end at 3.32 a.m. The lunar eclipse can be viewed with bare eyes, said Breakthrough Science Society district convener Francis Kalathunkal.“This will be the longest lunar eclipse in this century,” he said.
