KOZHIKODE: The killing of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan on May 4 was a well-planned political murder, according to indications from police sources. The Special Investigation Team has been getting crucial evidence about the nexus between gangsters and the CPM leaders at various organisational levels.Police believe that the assassins are hiding in party strongholds in Kannur. On Monday, the SIT issued look-out circular against one more CPM leader, K P Kunjananthan, member of CPM Panoor area committee, after receiving clues of his involvement in the conspiracy. Kunjananthan has been missing since Sunday. Kozhikode Rural SP Raj Mohan issued the look-out circular following indications that he would flee to the Gulf. The police team conducted raids at his residence at Paradu near Panoor.Sources said Kunjananthan, an important political leader in Panoor, acted as a handler between gang leader Kodi Suni and CPM leaders. Though he had played a crucial part in many political attacks earlier in Kannur, no cases had been registered against him, added sources. He was reportedly close to many police officers in Panoor. DGP Jacob Punnoose met the SIT officials and reviewed the progress of the probe.
