BANGALORE: The Federation of Karnataka State Lorry Owners and Agents Association has threatened to go on an indefinite strike, if the State Government does not withdraw the notification to make it mandatory to install speed governors in all commercial vehicles. In a press release, the Association President G R Shanmugappa stated that the speed governors will add to the woes of the truckers by increasing the consumption of fuel, besides prolonging travel time from one destination to another. The State Government should introduce alternate measures like installing interceptors at all major roads to check the speed, he said.
