New Delhi: The movie 'Vettai' marks the coming together of actor Madhavan and director Lingusamy after 'Run' (2002), which was a turning point in both their careers. Talking to reporters, Madhavan commented,"Lingusamy and I have come together after a period of 10 years through this film. He has grown 10 times bigger as a director while I have put on 10 more kgs."

The actor's extolment of the director didn't stop at that. "I have worked with many top directors, both in Tamil and Hindi. But Lingusamy's speciality is that he is probably the only director who can satisfy audiences by giving what they expect and still surprise them with a twist after that," he said.

The actor said he had injured his knees and had told the director that he wouldn't be able to do heavy action sequences in 'Vettai'. "I don't know how they (Lingusamy and Nirav Shah, the cinematographer of the film) managed to shoot my portions, but the scenes have come out really well."

Talking about Arya, who has played his brother in the movie, Maddy said, "It was fun to work with Arya. He would make fun of everyone on the sets, but he would know what the director had in mind and deliver it. With 'Vettai', he will garner twice the attention I got in 'Run'."

The crew seems to have had some memorable time off the sets too. Disclosed Maddy, "For a movie to come out well, there should be harmony among the various cast and crew members. We had fun together and worked like a family."

About the female leads, Maddy said, "Sameera was a pleasure to work with and we have made 'Mynaa' Amala Paul into a peacock in the movie." The film has been produced by Dhananjayan of UTV Pictures.
