BANGALORE: The sleuths of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) have arrested a man for allegedly organising betting on the ongoing Indian Premiere League match. Goods worth Rs1.5 lakh including a cash of Rs 69,000 have been recovered from the accused. The accused has been identified as Mohan Kumar (33), a resident of Avalahalli Main Road in Srinagar.
According to the police, Mohan operated through mobile phones and organised betting on cricket matches. The police had received a tip off that he was carrying out betting activities on IPL semifinal match between Royal Challangers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians which was played in Chennai on Friday. The police raided his house and arrested him as it was found that he was involved in betting. Rs 69,000 cash, a TV and three mobile phones have been seized.
