Maoists hoist black flags at schools

MALKANGIRI: Maoists hoisted black flags in various schools and official buildings in the district on Monday.They unfurled the black flags in the MPV-25 Project Upper Primary School and Bhejangwada SC/ST Department-managed residential school under Kalimela police limits. Black flags and Maoist posters were also seen at the Bhejangwada gram panchayat office. Eyewitnesses said more than a 100 slogan- shouting armed Maoists arrived in Bhejangwada early on Monday morning. Later, they hoisted the black flags in various schools in the area.At the DNK Ground, Labour and Employment Minister Puspendra Singh Deo hoisted the Tricolour under security blanket.Taking salute of the parade, Singh Deo said the State Government was committed to the development of all tribal-infested districts in the State, including Malkangiri. Freedom fighters, toppers of HSC, CHSE and CBSE examinations were felicitated on the occasion. The Minister also visited the district headquarters hospital and sub-jail and distributed sweets.
