CHENNAI: A man found the lid blown off his marital escapades, after his live-in partner lodged a complaint with the police, accusing him of breach of marriage promise at Thirumangalam.Rosemary Anthony Doss (29) lodged a complaint that she had been living with Riyaz alias Robert for the last eight months in the hope that he would fulfill his promise of marrying her. On finding him evasive when she insisted that they get married, Robert refused and absconded. Also, he had pawned her 25 sovereigns of jewellery Rosemary said.Police registered a case under Sections 406, 420 and 417 of IPC on him. Acting on a tip-off, the team nabbed the accused near the Kilpauk medical college hospital on Monday. He confessed to his first marriage in 2005 to Vijaya, with whom he had a son. He ditched his wife and hooked up with Rosemary, but left her after eight months. Two months ago, he got married to Sagayamary. The accused man was produced before the 13th court in Egmore, which remanded him in judicial custody.
