Mathura: In a shameful incident, national fencing player Hoshiyar Singh died after allegedly being pushed off a moving train by government railway police personnel in Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.
State Railway police officers allegedly pushed Singh off from a passenger train while he was returning to Mathura with his mother, wife and seven-year old child. He had gone to see his family who were in the women's coach, as his wife had called him saying she was feeling ill.
Police officials asked him either to get down or pay the fine. When he argued, he was allegedly pushed off the moving train. He died on the spot.
"He had come to see me in the women's coach when the police officials came. I pleaded with them to let me talk to my husband but they didn't let him. They pushed him off the train and he was crushed to death. I want strict action against the culprit," the national level player's wife Jyoti Singh said.
