Lucknow: BSP supremo Mayawati on Sunday ridiculed Akhilesh Yadav for encouraging use of cycle, drawing a spontaneous retort from the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister. "Akhilesh has nothing to do. If he does not ride cycle, what else will he do," Mayawati posed at a press conference in Lucknow.
Pat came a reply from the chief minister, who said, "cycling is good for health, she should know." Akhilesh said she did not have any issue to raise and was, therefore, dabbling in non-issues.
"People of the state have given us a chance to rule. She has no other issue left. Cycle is not of any one person. It's of old, young, everyone. Cycling is good for health. If you want to feel healthy throughout the day, you should also cycle," Yadav said on the sidelines of a programme in Lucknow.
'Cycle' is the election symbol of the ruling Samajwadi Party, and Mayawati's barb came on a day when the chief minister, who loves cycling, attended the National Cycling Competition-2015 organised in Lucknow by Cycling Federation of India.
