JHARSUGUDA: MCL Labour and Welfare Officer Dinesh Kumar Suryavanshi was arrested by CBI sleuths for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a loader Phagulal Khadia on Tuesday. He was taking the amount from a loader for rehabilitating his son against him on the ground of being medically unfit. He has been taken to Bhubaneswar where he will be produced in CBI Court.Dinesh was working in mine 3 under Orient area in the district.Khadia wanted to resign on medical grounds and requested that his son be accommodated against him on compassionate grounds. It is learnt that Suryavanshi had demanded Rs 30,000 for approval of his application and Khadia had even paid it to him. But when Suryavanshi demanded an additional Rs 5,000, Khadia informed the CBI who laid a trap and arrested the officer while accepting the amount.
