Minister for Youth Services and Sports M P Appacchu on Wednesday said the state government is formulating an exclusive Sports Policy on the lines of the already drafted Youth Policy to foster young sporting talents across the state.
“This will help us identify sporting talents in every corner of the state and support their growth. We invite ideas and suggestions for framing the policy,” said Appacchu at the Ekalavya 2011 award ceremony at Vidhana Soudha.
The Youth Policy has been drafted after incorporating suggestions and feedback from more than 10,000 citizens and will be cleared soon, he added.
Cricketer Vinay Kumar R, a 2011 awardee, lauded the efforts of the state government in promoting sports.

Rollerskater Pragna H A, a 2010 awardee, said the sports scenario in the state was improving step-by-step.
