ANGAMALY: Excise Minister K Babu’s father K K Kumaran, 86, alias Bharath Kumaran, died here on Saturday night. The cremation was held at Kidangoor SNDP crematorium on Sunday evening. Kumaran is survived by wife Ponnamma, of Paliyekkudy, Kanjoor, and children Rajeevan, Sajeevan, Joshy, Dalima and Sheeja.The body was shifted to CSA auditorium here on sunday afternoon for the public to pay tributes. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, ministers Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, V K Ebrahim Kunju, V S Sivakumar and T M Jacob, MPs K P Dhanapalan, P Rajeev, M I Shanavaz and P C Chacko, former ministers T H Musthafa, Jose Thettayil MLA, S Sarma MLA and P P Thankachan, MLAs Anwar Sadath, Saju Paul, B D Devassy, V D Satheesan, Benny Behanan, Hibi Eden, Ludy Louis, Joseph Vazhakkan and T N Prathapan, Ernakulam District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth, Rural District Police Chief Harshita Attaluri, Beena IAS, K R Viswambaran IAS, Kochi Mayor Tony Chammini, Angamaly municipal chairman C K Varghese, and several religious, social and cultural leaders paid their last tributes.
