CUTTACK: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has charisma and mettle to become a national game-changer from a regional satrap, feel his partymen. They set the idea rolling during the BJD youth meet on the occasion of August Kranti Divas here on Tuesday. With the Congress stuttering under serious loss of credibility following corruption cases and scams and the BJP still to come out of shock of the electoral reverses, the voices for Naveen to take the plunge into national politics by cobbling up a new political formation have begun to get heard in the BJD.Dharmasala MLA and senior leader Kalpataru Das made this loud and clear at the meet. It is high time the BJD supremo played a bigger role on the national stage. The scam-ridden Congress is in a mess. The BJP is facing identity crisis. The Third Front is not feasible due to weakened Left. The country is in need of a clean and honest leaders and a new formation to give the people a better alternative.Leaders like Naveen and Nitish Kumar can join hands to float a fourth front and lead the country. “Biju Patnaik could have been the Prime Minister but he did not. Naveen can fulfil the aspirations of the 4.5 crore people of the State,” he said. The idea seemed to have found favour with many other leaders. Some even alluded to it albeit in an indirect manner.
