New Delhi: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has busted an interstate drug syndicate operating in NCR and Punjab and arrested three people.

According to preliminary information, NCB officials intercepted a vehicle with a Punjab registration number in Uttam Nagar and arrested two Indians and an African national.

They also seized 515gm heroin, 180gm cocaine and 215gm methamphetamine from them.

The two Indians revealed that they procured the contraband from an African national staying in Mohan Garden, who said he was working for another African national.

Police suspect him to be the kingpin of the racket.

The African national further revealed that they would pack the drugs in false cavities of briefcases and distribute them across NCR and neighbouring states.

NCB zonal director Madho Singh said, “A trend has been noticed of late that some drug peddlers based in Punjab and other adjoining areas come to Delhi — especially during odd hours to avoid enforcement agencies — to take drugs from the syndicates operating in NCR.”
