HYDERABAD: If you are looking for gaining knowledge through a social networking platform, here’s a Website that helps people teach and learn anything on a global platform without any geographical restrictions. ‘Gyanfinder.com’ launched by Gyan Web solutions, a software company based in Hyderabad, is a social networking learning website founded by Vamsee Vanaparthy and aims to implement ‘teach all you want, learn all you desire’. Like Facebook is for friends, LinkedIn is for professionals, Vamsee Vanaparthy proudly calls it ‘Gyanfinder’ as a platform to seek and impart knowledge. Identifying the call for innovative social learning platforms for transmission of knowledge, Vamsee says, “the uniqueness of Gyanfinder lies in its ability to make live-learning accessible to internet users throughout the world, thus removing impediments caused by global locations.”Vamsee who is the chief architect of the Website says that his Website offers an opportunity for people to learn from experts in various disciplines like computer graphics or designing to gardening or carpentry. The first three training sessions would be free of cost and one can take up any training lessons available on the Website, he said. The fee would be decided by the trainer and on reviews and ratings by the users while sessions will be decided by the trainer according to particular time slots. A maximum of 25 members can attend a session online. The Website will be publicised on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and also demand 8 to 10 per cent of the fee charged by the trainer.Dr Chukka Ramaiah, MLC, who was the chief guest at the launch, said, Gyan was a larger term than knowledge. He lauded the software company for bringing out such an innovative platform to impart and share knowledge.
