After demanding the right to be PhD research guides, the Degree College Teachers’ Association has pressed for increased role in the Lucknow University’s decision making bodies. In a meeting with vice-chancellor SB Nimse on Tuesday, representatives of the teachers’ association said a well-set ratio of 60:40 should be implemented in letter and spirit between the college and university teachers in all the boards and committees of the university.
Lucknow: IILM Academy organises orientation programme

An orientation programme was organised by the IILM Academy of Higher Learning for the students of PGDM Batch 2013-15. The weeklong orientation programme included various entertaining and learning sessions. Director of the institute inaugurated the programme and encouraged the students to focus on achieving goals.
Agra: City to have new theme park

A theme park will be constructed near Inner Ring Road of the city. The decision was taken in a meeting held on Tuesday. Apart from this, the proposal for planned development on both side of the road have been approved. The proposal for the park and the roadside development has been sent for audit by the state government.
Allahabad: ECC students’ hunger strike enters 8th day

Ewing Christian College (ECC) students continued their hunger strike for the eight day. In a meeting held by the students’ union wing, they allegedly accused the proctorial team of pressurised the students to end their strike and threatened them of arrest. The union wing said that they will continue their protest defying the orders of the college proctorial team.
Allahabad: MN Medical College makes ID card mandatory for students

Motilal Nehru Medical College (MNMC) authorities have decided to make it mandatory for all the students to carry their ID cards while in the college campus. Students will not be allowed to enter the college premises without their ID card. Outsiders will have to register their details for entering the college. The step was taken after motorbikes of students were stolen from the boys’ hostel.
Ghaziabad: City to have modern T.B. Control Centre

A model District T.B. Control Centre will be opening up in the city. Patients from the western part of the state can now visit the hospital for treatment. With the installment of modern machines, patients will get their test results within two hours. Under the central government’s new medical scheme, Cartridge-Based Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (CBNAAT) expert machine, will be installed in four districts of the state, namely Basti, Bareilly, Kanpur and Ghaziabad.
