Newspaper vendor arrested for selling Urdu daily Avadhnama with Charlie Hebdo cartoon
The complainant has alleged that despite knowing the language the vendor was selling the newspaper which would have hurt religious sentiments.

Mumbai: A newspaper vendor has been arrested for allegedly selling the January 17 issue of Urdu daily Avadhnama. The Urdu daily had reprinted the cover of Charlie Hebdo.

Several FIRs have also been registered against Editor Shireen Dalvi. The newspaper vendor was arrested on Wednesday night. A complaint was registered by a committee member of a masjid Riyaz Chale. A case has been registered under section 295 IPC.

The complainant has alleged that despite knowing the language he decided to sell the Urdu daily which would have hurt religious sentiments.

The vendor will be produced before Sewri court.
