In the latest development in the murder case of NIA officer Mohammad Tanzeel Ahmed, two youth are under the scanner for his murder.
This comes after the Uttar Pradesh Police scan the CCTV footage from the wedding that was attended by Tanzeel Ahmed and his family shortly before he was killed.
The footage has been shown to the wedding party but they haven't been able to identify the youth.
Currently, police have not ruled out personal rivalry or a property dispute as the motive for the crime. They say a terror angle due to Ahmed probing the Pathankot attack is unlikely. The officer was shot 24 times in front of his wife and children over the weekend.
"There were two people on a bike. They shot my father and when their bullets ended, they reloaded the gun and shot again. They spotted in the spot for three/four minutes and after that went away," the NIA officer's daughter had said earlier.
Ahmed was shot dead in Bijnor on Saturday night in front of his wife and children 24 times while they were returning from a family wedding. The NIA and Uttar Pradesh Police are probing any possible terror angle to Tanzil's murder.
The incident took place when Ahmed, earlier posted as an assistant commandant in BSF and on deputation to NIA, was returning to his home in Sahaspur village of Bijnor district with his family after attending his niece's wedding in another nearby village in the same district, which is about 150 km from Delhi.
