BANGALORE: Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa on Friday said that the state government is yet to send a concrete proposal for the commuter train around Bangalore city.Speaking to media persons after flagging off Rajya Rani Express Bangalore-Mysore train service, Muniyappa said, “If the government comes out with a proposal, the Ministry of Railways will definitely consider it at the earliest. The rail network should also be extended to places such as Anekal, Hoskote, Devanahalli, Doddaballapur, Nelamangala, Magadi, Ramanagara, Attibele and Hosur too. If connectivity is provided between these places and the city, traffic congestion on roads will come down”.4 DEMU servicesOn the occasion, Muniyappa introduced three DEMU services to Kolar-Bangalore Cantonment, Bangarpet- Bangalore Cantonment, Bangalore-Dharmapuri and Bangarpet-Marikuppam and one EMU service between Bangarpet-Kuppam.On the new services, he said, “These four services are very close to my heart as I have taken up these demands personally on several occasions after witnessing the plight of residents of Kolar and surrounding areas to travel to Bangalore”.The minister also inaugurated an emergency medical care facility at the main concourse of the City Railway Station.The centre has been set up in association with Narayana Hrudayalaya.
