Lucknow: The Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) is likely to file a chargesheet in connection with the murders of former Chief Medical Officers VK Arya and BP Singh on Tuesday accusing two shooters and the person who hired them of murder and criminal conspiracy.
The investigative agency in its first chargesheet in the sensational murders of two CMOs is also likely to name a former Health officer in the criminal conspiracy of the case, sources said.
According to the CBI, the alleged motive behind the murders was the fear of being exposed in misappropriation of funds in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
The agency is likely to name alleged shooters Anand Prakash Tiwari and Vinod Sharma besides RK Verma who had allegedly hired them to murder the then CMO Dr V K Arya who was probing NRHM funds scam in Lucknow, CBI sources said.
The CBI might also name former Deputy Chief Medical Officer Y S Sachan, whose death inside jail created a sensation, as co-conspirator in the murder of Arya, they said.
The agency had also recently arrested former CMO A K Shukla in connection with the murder case of Arya on charges of criminal conspiracy.
There were indications emerging that Shukla could also be allegedly involved in killing of another Chief Medical Officer BP Singh, official sources said.
Arya was murdered while he was taking a morning walk on October 2010 at Vikas Nagar area while Singh was shot dead in April last year at Gomti Nagar.
Shukla was earlier arrested by the CBI last year in connection with the NRHM scam but was granted bail by the Allahabad High Court.
The court had on July 27 directed the CBI to probe the murders of the two CMOs and also irregularities in implementation of the NRHM.
