New Delhi: The Rajasthan government on Saturday put into action the National Security Act (NSA) in the ten violence-hit districts in the state though no fresh incidents of violence were reported in the state.
Home Secretary V S Singh said under the NSA, for the next three months, the District Collectors of Jaipur, Kauroli, Bharatpur, Sawai Adhopur, Bundi, Dausa, Alwar, Kota, Jhalawar and Dholpur have been given orders to detain troublemakers.
The offence under the NSA would be treated as a non-bailable one and the existing prohibitory orders under Section 144 would remain.
''Except a single incident of clash between Meenas and Gurjars reported from Pisangan in Ajmer district, the situation in the state was by and large peaceful,'' UNI quoted Singh as saying.
The Jaipur-Delhi (NH-8) route had been made fully operational as were train services on the trunk route of Delhi-Mathura-Mumbai though the Dausa-Mauhva portion of the Jaipur-Agra route continued to be disrupted.
Singh added that about 2,500 tourists stranded at the Mendipur Balagi temple had been evacuated and arrangements were being made for the transportation of passengers left in the temple.
