New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday made yet another astounding charge, in the presence PM Narendra Modi and CJI T S Thakur, when he alleged that the phones of judges are being tapped. He went on to lament that it is the biggest assault on the independence of the judiciary.
Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad promptly denied the allegations, saying the independence of judiciary is fundamental and uncompromising for the Narendra Modi government.
Here is a list of occasions when Kejriwal has directly attacked the PM:
- Oct 26, 2016: Attacked PM Modi-led central government, calling it "anti-army". In a tweet, Kejriwal alleged that the centre is "just using" the army's sacrifices for political gains. "Weak OROP, reduction in disability pension and now this. Isn't Modi government anti-army? They just milch army's sacrifices for political gains," he wrote.
- Sept 1, 2016: Firing a fresh salvo at the Centre, Kejriwal alleged Lt Governor Najeeb Jung was “stalling” the clearance of minimum wages file “at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi”, who does not want it implemented in Delhi.
- August 18, 2016: Lashed out at PM Modi for ACB raid at. Tweeted, "Modiji did not spare even the DCW which is doing such commendable work. Modiji has done a very bad thing."
- July 27, 2016: Said in a video that people from the Modi government may try to get him killed. "I want to tell everyone today that it is a very critical time... They (the Modi government) can go to any extent. They can try to kill us. They can try to kill me. They can do anything," said Delhi CM.
- June 24, 2016: Questioned PM Modi’s diplomatic acumen over India’s failed NSG bid. Kejriwal said that the Prime Minister owes an explanation about what he did during his “jaunts” abroad. “PM Modi has completely failed on foreign policy front. “He owes explanation on what did he did on his foreign jaunts?” Kejriwal said on Twitter.
- June 21, 2016: Declared he would not be intimidated by what he called "false charges" as he hit out at PM Modi after being drawn into an alleged tanker scam. Said, "Modiji, I am not a Rahul Gandhi or Sonia Gandhi that you can scare me. I am not a Robert Vadra that you can have a setting (secret deal) with me. “
- June 14, 2016: Attacked PM Modi after President held his assent to a bill designed to protect 21 AAP MLAs in ‘Office of profit’ case. Accuses PM Modi of indulging in political vendetta and said the BJP is “scared” of AAP and unable to digest its defeat in Delhi.
- March 18, 2016: Attacked PM Modi and asked him to focus on governance rather than "snooping on opponents"."The Prime Minister should concentrate on governance, which is suffering badly under NDA, rather than snooping on opponents," Kejriwal tweeted.
- Dec 15, 2015: Kejriwal attacked PM Modi, saying he was resorting to "cowardice", after CBI raided his office. "When Modi could not handle me politically, he resorts to this cowardice. Modi is a coward and psychopath," he said in another tweet expressing his anguish over the raids.
