GULBARGA: After facing the heat from the Supreme Court on the environmental concerns, the Bellary district administration came under firing once again with a High Court judge saying that the officials are turning district into “a mess”.What’s more, Bellary Deputy Commissioner Amlan Aditya Biswas said that the administrative machinery collapsed in district with corruption reaching all levels. The situation in Bellary district figured prominently during the Regional Lok Adalat, held under the chairmanship of senior High Court Judge Justice N K Patil here on Saturday. When Biswas failed to respond to some of the questions put forth by Justice Patil, the latter said that the officials of Bellary district “are making the entire district a mess”.“No progress is achieved in education, health and forest departments,” Justice Patil observed. When the Lok Adalat wanted to know the compliance of the recent apex court directive on developing forests in Bellary district, the forest official told the Adalat that 10,500 hectares of land became barren due to mining. But, the official failed to reply how much forest was grown in that area after the Supreme Court’s directive.
