Oil strike ends, customers take a sigh of relief
The oil strike continued for three days across the country.

New Delhi: It was business as usual for consumers and petrol pump workers alike. Unlike the last three days, Saturday saw no chaos at petrol pumps with most of them running to full capacity providing the much needed relief to consumers.

“Yesterday was chaotic but today was okay. There were no queues,” says a customer.

“I had no problems refueling anywhere as petrol was available at all petrol pumps I came across,” add another consumer.

Tankers from nearby depots have been replenishing fuel stocks at petrol stations.

After the oil officers ended their strike, it was an end to the worries of the petrol pump operatives and the worries of the consumers as also the long queues outside the petrol pumps here in the national capital.

In Mumbai however, only 40 per cent of the petrol pumps are operational and Diesel supply is yet to resume in many pumps. Traffic was back on roads today but consumers queued up outside fuel stations hoping to tank up. The CNG supply also showed improvement.

“I've come all the way form Powai, this is the only pump that has supply and however situation is better than yesterday,” says a Mumbaikar.

Fuel was readily available in Chennai with the effect of the strike gradually wearing off.
