On Visakhapatnam's Ramakrishna Beach, Statues Of Seven Mermaids Major Tourist Attraction
Not only the mermaids but there are also many other idols sculpted on Ramakrishna Beach which always entices the tourists.

Visakhapatnam’s Ramakrishna Beach, located in Andhra Pradesh, is one of the major tourist attractions due to the innumerable magnificent statues located here. Amongst these idols, the statues of the seven mermaids are what attract the tourists the most.

As per Local18 Telugu, a majority of the tourists have depicted interest in clicking a picture with the life-size idols of these seven mermaids. A mermaid is a mythical sea-dwelling creature, often described as having the head and body of a woman and a fish’s tail below the waist. As shown in a video, these idols have been brilliantly sculpted against the serene backdrop of rocks. This arrangement gives it a spectacular view for clicking the pictures and explains the reason why tourists are interested in getting themselves clicked here.

Not only the mermaids, there are many other idols sculpted on this beach which always entice the tourists. These idols include NT Rama Rao, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the founder of the Telugu Desam Party. Other noteworthy mentions are the Vijayanagar’s emperor Krishnadeva Raya and the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. The sculptures of Gautama Buddha, Potti Sreeramulu, Sri Rangam Srinivasa Rao, Tandra Paparayudu, Adivi Bapiraju and others.

Besides the statues, Ramakrishna Beach is also a famous tourist attraction due to its floating bridge. Andhra Pradesh minister Gudivada Amarnath and Rajya Sabha member YV Subba Reddy launched this 100-meter-long and three-meter-wide floating bridge. Tourists can access the floating bridge for a fee of Rs 100 for adults and Rs 70 for children. With the bridge, tourists have the rare opportunity to explore the ocean and take in the massive vista of the shore.

The floating bridge was constructed at a cost of about Rs.1.60 crore. District Collector A Mallikarjuna said that this floating bridge will attract tourists. As per the district collector, the security of the tourists has also been given top priority.

An officer from VMRDA will be available to monitor the maintenance of the floating bridge. When the tourists cross the bridge, two boats will continuously move back and forth parallel to the bridge.
