HYDERABAD: There was good turnout at the examinations held across the state on Sunday for recruitment of village revenue officers (VROs) and village revenue assistants (VRAs). The attendance was 76.46 percent and 73.28 percent for the VRO and VRA tests respectively.Of the 10,40,025 candidates, 7,95,167 took the VRO examination at 2,712 centres. In the case of VRA test, 1,12,846 of 1,54,003 candidates appeared for the examination at 384 centres. Warangal district topped the list with a percentage of 87.93 percent for VROs while Vizianagaram topped with 80.07 percent for VRAs. The question were of objective type and were in Telugu language. The results will be announced on March 12 and the appointment letters handed over on March 24.Selected candidates will be provided training at the AP Academy of Rural Development (APARD) in Hyderabad in April. The government plans to recruit 1,172 VROs and 6,063 VRAs, according to the chief commissioner of land administration. Collectors are the appointing authority for VROs and RDOs for VRA posts.
