Pak's Chaudhary Mukhtar Ahmed says a high-level team will come to India to help.

Pakistan's Defence Minister Chaudhary Mukhtar Ahmed says his government is willing to co-operate in terror investigations provided there is evidence.CNN-IBN: Are you willing to allow Indian investigators to come to Pakistan and share all the information they have with you? Choudhary Mukthar Ahmed: I think we must share this information with the intelligence of India. It would be rather unfair for you to say that that Indian people come and probe the people who have been detained. I think there is the offer for joint probe. The investigation into the whole thing is a very good offer.CNN-IBN: What does the joint probe mean if we are not even allowed to come to Pakistan and question them on the basis of the information Indian investigators have gathered? Choudhary Mukthar Ahmed: First of all, if you want to probe somebody, you should have some evidence against those people and we still don't have yet. Joint investigation into the whole affair means better relationship between the two countries.CNN-IBN: You are saying that there is no evidence yet but we have been shown 10 dead bodies. The Mumbai Crime branch has given those photographs with very precise details of where those people came from, those are the Mumbai attackers. No more evidence should really be needed for Pakistan in order to at least prove that these people came from Pakistani soil.Choudhary Mukthar Ahmed: Our investigation team will go there, check with our people and will come with some findings and thereafter, you start probe and can start questions and answers. CNN-IBN: You have arrested Mazood Azhar, Lakhvi but we have seen these arrests in the past and they being been let off after a few months. Is there some sort of assurance that you can give the Indian government that, these people were India's most wanted will be prosecuted in Pakistan? Choudhary Mukthar Ahmed: In the past there was no civilian government and they decided no to cooperate. Our president is very clear on it that he talked to all the world leaders and said that we are willing to discuss certainly and find out solutions. We are also worried that something like this can happen again, and again the blame will come on the people of Pakistan. So, if you people had any leakage or some information on it, which could have passed on (to us) and we could have probably helped you in avoiding the incident. CNN-IBN: Are you ready to allow the Mumbai investigators to come to Pakistan, to produce this evidence at the highest level with whoever you want and will you then act immediately? Will there be it immediate action?Choudhary Mukthar Ahmed: We have already acted on some of the points and we call them the irritants. And we are tackling them one by one. We must not hurry in to the whole thing. We musty look at this very carefully and then see the whole thing. We are ready to send our high level investigation team to India, sit with your people, discuss the details, get fresh information from your side and can start probing the other aspects also.CNN-IBN: We heard from President Zardari earlier that the DG, ISI would be coming to India, then we heard he would not be coming. How high level is this delegation going to be? Can you get some details of who will actually lead the delegation? Choudhary Mukthar Ahmed: I think the foreign office has all the details on that and they are ready to work with the Indian side. Some senior people will come, not necessarily the DG, ISI has to come.

What's your reaction?
