Jaisalmar: After military intelligence gave inputs regarding Pakistan's plans to poison water bodies on Indo-Pak border near Rajasthan, the district authorities of Jaisalmar and Badmer have tightened the vigil. The water bodies in the two districts supply water to Army and local villages.

"The security officials are alert and are looking for any such activities. As far as water supply at homes are concerned, the public is also alert," Water Supply department official Nemaram Parihar said.

The reports come at a time when delegations of Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers are slated to hold talks in Delhi on Wednesday.

Ceasefire violations at the International Border, sniper attacks on BSF personnel, issue of intrusions in Rann of Kutch, contraband smuggling will be some of the top issues on agenda in the meeting.

While the Pakistani delegation will be led by the senior Rangers Director General (Punjab) Major General Umar Farooq Burki, the 23-member Indian side would be headed by BSF DG DK Pathak.

The last round of talks between the Indo-Pak border forces were held one-and-a-half-years back in December 2013 in Lahore.
