A married woman died by suicide after her husband had an affair with another woman and wanted to marry her. The incident took place in Haryana’s Panipat district.
It has been claimed that the husband along with her girlfriend were torturing the deceased woman. Her family has accused the police of not taking prompt action. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case against the husband and his girlfriend.
Jyoti, a resident of Panipat’s Dahar village was married to Sunny in 2016 in Panipat’s Dadola village. Jyoti’s family has accused her husband of poisoning her and accused him and his girlfriend for their daughter’s death. It has been reported that Sunny had called Jyoti and said, “You die, we will raise your children.” Following this, Jyoti died by suicide. Jyoti’s family also claimed that Sunny went on saying that she will not be able to inflict any harm on him.
He said that the woman’s husband was constantly torturing her and was also demanding dowry. The family has also warned the police administration that they will not pick up the body until the accused are arrested. At present, the police is conducting post-mortem proceedings by taking statements of family members. The family has also accused the police of delaying action.
The woman is survived by three daughters. Her parents had died earlier. Jyoti’s husband, Sunny was working as a supervisor in a company. He met Vanshika Yadav, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur at his workplace and fell in love with her. They had decided to get married this month. Presently, both Sunny and his girlfriend, Vanshika are on the run.
