Peace march marks Environment Day

CHENNAI: In an attempt to promote World Environment day, Tanishq, a division of Tata Enterprise, organised a peaceful procession at the Marina beach yesterday.“We feel it is our duty to do all that we can to improve the deteriorating status of our planet. We are happy to present the customers who have shopped with us today some saplings and a copy of “An Inconvenient Truth,” a documentary on global warming by former United States Vice President, Al Gore,” said Harindranath, Area Sales Manager of Tanishq. The procession, which started from the Light house culminated at Simpson grounds.The event was organised to create awareness and sensitise people about the safety of our ecosystem.” “As a corporate house, it is our earnest attempt to make a difference and create a positive impact on our surroundings,” Harindranath said. “We at Tanishq feel it is our duty to do all that we can to improve the deteriorating status of our planet. We thank all the citizens joined us for the march.” Morning joggers joined the procession on the way.Participants displayed banners that carried slogans such as ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’.
