Mumbai: Yet another twist has been added to the contentious Sheena Bora murder case. CNN-News18 has accessed phone conversations of former media baron Peter Mukerjea, his son Rahul and prime accused in the case Indrani Mukerjea. A tape of telephonic conversations between Peter Mukerjea and Rahul has emerged where the former media baron can be heard trying to pacify his son over the whereabouts of Sheena Bora.
Sheena, Indrani's daughter from an earlier relationship, and Rahul, Peter's son from his earlier marriage, were in a relationship and at one point in time, they used to stay together in a rented flat in Mumbai.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has handed over these tapes to court on a plea by Indrani Mukherjea, the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case. Indrani had sought the tapes since the CBI submitted only seven of 20 transcripts along with its second chargesheet against Peter.
Later, Indrani said that she didn't know that her phone call with Rahul was getting recorded. Indrani said she only got to know that her conversation was being recorded when she was asked for voice samples.
Sheena (24) was allegedly murdered by Indrani, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and ex-driver Shyamvar Rai, on April 24, 2012. She was allegedly strangled in a car and her body burnt and dumped in a forest in Raigad, about 84 kms from Mumbai.
