HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad police has banned bursting of fireworks and crackers in public places on the occasion of Deepavali. In a statement on Saturday, police commissioner AK Khan issued orders requesting the public that bursting of fireworks on roads and public places is strictly prohibited during celebration of Deepavali. There shall be a complete ban on bursting sound-emitting firecrackers between 10 a.m and 6 p.m and the noise level from crackers, drums and other instruments should not exceed the permissible limits, said the commissioner. He also informed that if any person violates these rules and regulations, they will be liable for prosecution under the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348. These orders shall be in force from 6 a.m on October 25 to 6 a.m on October 28.
