BANGALORE: The 13th Finance Commission has granted the State Police Rs150 crore for the period 2011-15 to create training infrastructure in the State.Director General of Police (training) Sushant Mahapatra said that the money has been earmarked for basic and in-service courses. He said that Rs 37.5  crore has been sanctioned in the first instalment to expend on building new training schools and upgrade basic facilities in existing schools.New schools for City Armed Reserve (South) will be built at Hubli-Dharwad, Kadur, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Kangarahalli, and Belgaum (State Reserve Police), while  police training schools for District Armed Reserve at Mysore, Imangala, and Chitradurga will be upgraded. New infrastructure will be created at  PDMS, Yelahanka for conducting seminars and workshops for officers. Under this plan, proposal has been made to build a Commando School at Agara, Kanakapura. Currently, the Department has been recruiting about  3,500-4000 constables and 250 sub-inspectors every year.
